Samantabhadra Bodhisattva’s Verse of Exhortation says, “This day is already done, our lives are that much lesser. We are like fish in a shrinking pond. What joy is there in this?” The meaning is today being over, our life is shorter by a day. Just like fish in a pond where water is getting lesser. What is there to be happy about?
Our life may be short and insignificant but all remarkable things were created by the human hands. A person uses 80% of time to do 20% of important things. A successful person always uses the most time to do important but not urgent things. The average person usually gives priority to the urgent but not important matters. So we need to learn to give urgency to important matters.
Anyway, whatever the past has passed. Treasure our remaining time and do not have any regrets. Time will not give us a retake. Friends, treasure every day in your life. “Do not sit by idly, for young men will grow old in regret.” Remember yesterday, treasure today and create tomorrow.
